Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: How does a Swing Labs golf club fitting work?
A: You as the golfer will hit a number of golf balls with a control golf club. The results of these golf swings will be captured by the Accusport Vector Launch Monitor. The data of these golf swings will be processed by the computer and the proper golf equipment will be suggested. You will then hit the suggested golf clubs in a comparison test through the launch monitor. The golf shots will again be correlated and the golf club with the best overall performance will be determined.

Q: What does a Swing Labs custom golf club fitting cost?
A: $39.99 for a driver or iron set fit and $69.99 for a combination fitting of both. This price is for the golf equipment fitting service and IS NOT credited toward the price of a golf club purchase.

Q: Will I be given a report of my golf club fitting?
A: You will be emailed a complete golf equipment fitting report of your session data, the selected golf clubs, golf balls and shaft selections. For ease of in store selections, the golf club fitter will also print a report at the time of your golf equipment fitting. Click on the following links for a snapshot of the reports that you will receive.
  • The Stock Golf Club Report is generated based upon the golf club fitter's selection of up to any three additional golf clubs. The player will then hit a number of golf shots with each golf club which will subsequently be uploaded, analyzed, and compared to the control golf club used. (The control golf club is a any stock golf club that has been tested by Swing Labs at Golf Laboratories.) The stock golf club report explains the performance characteristics of the golf equipment that will help golfers optimize their shot data.
  • The Best Golf Club Report is generated after the additional stock golf clubs have been hit and data has been uploaded to Swing Labs and analyzed. The recommendation is based upon actual objective data relating to the golfer and the known optimum data Swing Labs has acquired through its testing with Golf Laboratories. The report shows a rating or score next to key parameters Swing Labs uses to determine the best recommended golf club.
  • The After-market Golf Shaft Upgrade Report is generated from a selection of recommended shafts shown to perform well during robot testing at the same average clubhead speed as the golfer. The recommended shafts take into account the effect of changes in variables such as shaft weight, flex, kick-point, torque, etc., with a goal of improving performance by narrowing the delta between the golfer's actual and optimal golf shot data.
  • Swing Labs Golf Ball Report is included in each complete driver fitting! Testing was performed at Golf Laboratories to determine the best category of golf ball that the golfer should be playing, based upon objective test data derived from the best performing golf club and the control golf ball used during the golf club fitting session.
Swing Labs Introduces its first generation iron fitting. The Stock and the Best Iron Fitting Reports are generated using a similar process to driver fitting, except using any 'stock' 6 iron. The Best Iron Report incorporated detailed golf shot analysis for accuracy, consistency, distance control, and other variables particularly important to optimization of iron performance rather than being solely based upon distance.

Q: Will the club choices meet my expectations of what I believe I should play?
A: Not always. Due to the launch, spin and golf ball flight characteristics, you may find Swing Labs will produce a result that is not what you expect. But, after all, you are getting matched with new products, new technologies and modern advances that are designed in a different way to produce positive results, so be open to the new choices and test them in the “Best Golf Club” segment of the golf equipment fitting.

Q: What is the “Best Golf Club” segment of the golf equipment fitting?
A: This is the point in the fitting when the golfer will hit the recommended golf clubs and find out which golf club, through launch monitor comparison, has the best overall performance.

Q: Will I be able to be fit for the certain golf equipment brand and or model that I choose?
A: Yes. An override for the golf equipment make and model of your choice can be added and that golf club will be selected in the suggested golf clubs for test. You will be able to test this golf club in the “Best Golf Club” segment of the golf club fitting. You may find that the performance of this golf club may not be as good as the recommended golf clubs. If this is the case, you now know that your selection was not the correct golf club and the Swing Labs selections lead to a better performing golf club.

Q: Will I be provided with golf club shaft upgrade recommendations?
A: Yes. Swing Labs can provide you with a list of high performance golf club shaft upgrades for the suggested golf clubs.

Q: How will I actually be “fit” for the golf club selections?

A: There are different answers to this question. First, if you are being fit for a driver, loft, shaft type and flex have been determined. The next factors to be fit are the golf club length and the proper golf club grip size. When it comes to fitting the iron sets there are more factors to be considered and you will go through a dynamic fit. Golf club type, shaft flex and type are already selected. What is left to determine is golf club length, and golf club lie angle. Also in the dynamic golf equipment fitting process you will achieve proper golf club grip type and size along with creating the proper golf club set make up. This dynamic fitting process will take what Swing Labs has selected, and make it fit perfectly to your golf game.

Q: How does the golf ball suggestions work?
A: The data that is captured by the Accusport Launch Monitor is based on launch angle, spin rate and golf ball speed. These factors need to be optimized in order to gain maximum advantage from the golf club. In the selection process of the golf club type, Swing Labs also prepares a selection of golf balls that properly match that golf club selection. By pairing these essential factors maximum performance can be achieved.

Q: Can I demo the suggested golf clubs?

A: At Golfers' Warehouse we work hard to have as many demo golf clubs in stock as possible. Due to this we usually have demo golf clubs for the selections made from Swing Labs. You can select your golf club demos, sign them out from one of our convenient golf store locations and take them for demo. Once you have validated your golf equipment fitting, return the demos and purchase your new golf equipment.

Q: How can I schedule a fitting?

A: Call your nearest Golfers' Warehouse location and ask to schedule a Swing Labs golf equipment fitting with one of our trained professional staff. You will then be well on your way to making your game better!
Dynamic Golf Club Fit
Uses a golf swing speed meter, lie board and static measurements to determine golf club length, loft, lie, shaft type, flex & grip.

Dynamic Golf Club Fit ... $49.99 (FREE with golf club purchase.*)

* Fee is applied towards golf club purchases made within 60 days of fitting.
Step 1 The initial step in the dynamic fitting process begins with our club fitting specialist measuring your wrist to floor length to determine the proper starting golf club length. Step 2 You will hit the proper length golf club with impact tape placed on the face of the golf club. Through the hitting process and impact marks, the club fitting specialist will be able to further refine the proper golf club length.
Step 3 In this step you will hit a few more golf balls and the club fitting specialist will determine your average swing speed and your swing tempo. These two factors will allow the fitter to determine your proper shaft flex. Step 4 The final club measurement in the fitting process is the lie angle determination. This is accomplished by having you hit golf balls off of a lie board with lie tape on the bottom of the golf club. Depending on the location of the impact marks the club fitting specialist will determine the necessary adjustments that need to be made to the club to finalize the proper fit.
Step 5 In this step, you and the club fitting specialist will look at the overall make up of your set and how you play the game. This analysis will provide insight on the necessary clubs to fill all the voids in the golf bag to allow you the player to have the proper tools to complete your task.
